August 2023 - The longest suspension bridge in Israel has been inaugurated in Jerusalem and will instantly become one of the capital’s most popular tourist attractions. Connecting Mount Zion to the Valley of Hinnom, the bridge will provide visitors with spectacular views of the natural spring, lush vegetation and ancient burial sites within the valley. After nine months of construction, the suspension bridge, that extends 202 metres, will be open to the public from 6am to 10pm seven days a week. Costing 20 million Shekels to develop, the bridge is just one of many attractions the Mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Lion has been committed to developing.

In the last twenty years the bridge’s surrounding areas have been subject to an extensive cleaning programme, clearing the way for wonderful hiking trails that allow visitors to explore the ancient terrain. The bridge is situated within the Jerusalem Walls National Park and is near the agricultural farm in the Hinnom Valley that regularly hosts activities such as olive pressing and wine preparation.

Jerusalem Mayor, Moshe Lion, said: “The suspension bridge is a great addition to tourism in the city. Jerusalem, as the leading city in Israel, continuously enhances its tourist sites and invests millions in developing both domestic and international tourism in the city. I invite everyone to come and visit Jerusalem.”
