Oualie Bay Nevis Island Caribbean reopens to tourists travel

Holiday makers welcomed back to Nevis as flights to the island resume

The Caribbean island of Nevis is delighted to welcome fully-vaccinated UK travellers to its shores, following today’s announcement that the UK travel traffic light system has been scrapped and flights have resumed. October will be the first time the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis has had a scheduled flight arrive from the UK since March 2020.

As travel rules change today, the island is looking forward to welcoming holiday makers and visitors to enjoy its beaches, five-star hotels, rejuvenating wellness retreats, adventurous activities, fantastic dining and eclectic beach bars.

Only fully-vaccinated travellers will be able to enter Nevis, and a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result is also required, taken no more than 72 hours ahead of travel. Airport health screening is still in place, and all travellers are asked to ‘Vacation in Place’ for four days at one of the island’s four ‘Travel-Approved’ hotels: Four Seasons Resort, Golden Rock Inn, Montpelier Plantation & Beach, and Paradise Beach.

Jadine Yarde, CEO of the Nevis Tourism Authority, says: “After months of travel rule changes, it’s great to finally be able to welcome Brits back to the island this October. Flights resuming couldn’t have come at a better time, as the UK traffic light system changes and trips to the island are made easier than ever for British travellers.

“We’re so excited to be able to share all that Nevis has to offer with UK tourists once again. Whether they want to relax in one of our luxurious wellness retreats or are seeking adventure, Nevis has something to suit every type of traveller and we cannot wait to welcome them back.”

The British Airways service from Gatwick to the Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis resumed on 3 October 2021. The route will operate two consecutive services departing from Gatwick on Sunday 3 October and Sunday 10 October, then move to twice-weekly services departing from Gatwick on Wednesdays and Saturdays, commencing 16 October 2021.

The vaccination rate in St. Kitts & Nevis continues its upward trajectory, with 75.9% of the adult population having received one dose of the AstraZeneca/Oxford or Pfizer vaccine and 67.6% of the adult population fully vaccinated.
