A Perfect Start to Our Bangkok Adventure

Luxury, location, and local flavour at Amari Bangkok

Our recent four night adventure in Bangkok began with a two night stay at the five star Amari Bangkok, a contemporary oasis in the heart of the city’s vibrant Ratchaprasong district. With its unbeatable location, exceptional service, and luxurious amenities, Amari Bangkok set the tone for a truly memorable trip for us.

Location: In the Heart of Bangkok’s Action

Perfectly positioned opposite Platinum Fashion Mall, and just a short walk from CentralWorld and ten minutes from the BTS Skytrain, Amari Bangkok is a dream base for travellers keen to explore the city’s shopping, dining, and cultural hotspots. Tuk-tuks and taxis are readily available, and for a more local experience, the nearby canal offers a scenic route via water taxi. Suvarnabhumi Airport is around an hour away by car.

First Impressions: A Grand Welcome

Stepping into the soaring atrium, the contrast from Bangkok’s bustling streets was immediate. Cool air, the subtle scent of lemongrass, and ambient music created a calming atmosphere. The lobby’s centrepiece - a breathtaking Murano glass chandelier made of 847 individual pieces symbolises the hotel’s address and evokes the image of raindrops, aptly named Water of Life.

Earthy tones and gold accents throughout the space create a warm, elegant atmosphere. A standout feature is the smart lift system: guests simply tap their key card, select their floor, and are directed to a designated lift. It’s intuitive and efficient, with staff always nearby to assist.

Our Room: Club Premier Comfort

As Club Premier guests, we were escorted to a private check in at Club Siraa on the 9th floor. Seated in plush chairs and served a refreshing welcome drink, the experience felt exclusive and relaxed.

Our Club Premier interconnecting rooms offered the perfect blend of comfort, style, and practicality, ideal for families or groups travelling together. One room featured a king sized bed, while the other had two generously sized twin beds, both with crisp white linens. The rooms were bathed in natural light thanks to expansive floor to ceiling windows that framed sweeping views of the Bangkok skyline.

The décor blended contemporary design with Thai influences - neutral tones, elegant wood accents, and vibrant textiles. Thoughtful touches included a complimentary mini bar with non-alcoholic drinks and snacks, a Nespresso machine, and clearly labelled light switches (a small but surprisingly impactful detail!). The marble bathrooms featured double vanities, a spacious walk in rain shower, and excellent lighting - perfect for getting ready for a night out.

Club Siraa: An Elevated Experience

Staying in a Club Room gives you access to Club Siraa, a sophisticated lounge on the 9th floor. It’s a space that evolves throughout the day, from a peaceful breakfast area to a stylish evening retreat.

Breakfast here is a relaxed affair, with a curated buffet and à la carte options. We enjoyed fresh bread with honeycomb and other baked treats, fresh fruit and juices. I opted for a delicious eggs benedict with a side of bacon, a comforting taste of home after months of travel.

The staff were exceptional, by our second morning, they remembered our coffee orders and the kids names, and greeted us like old friends.

In the afternoon, we indulged in a beautifully presented Thai afternoon tea. This included green curry chicken sandwiches, pomelo salad cones, and a selection of traditional Thai sweets like Khao Tum Mud (sticky rice and banana in banana leaf) and Kanom Tarn (steamed toddy palm cakes). The tea menu was extensive, with fragrant blends and coffees to accompany the treats.

Thai Afternoon Tea and our Welcome Drink

Evenings at Club Siraa are a real highlight. From 5:30 to 7:30pm, the lounge hosts a complimentary happy hour type event, with an impressive selection of drinks including sparkling wine, cocktails, mocktails, and fresh juices - alongside a generous spread of canapés, cheeses, charcuterie, smoked salmon, and fresh bread. This was a lovely opportunity to relax and refuel after a busy day in Bangkok.

Food & Drink: A Culinary Journey

Amari Bangkok boasts a variety of dining options to suit every palate:

Amaya Food Gallery: A vibrant, market style restaurant on the fourth floor offering international cuisine with live cooking stations. This opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We had breakfast here one morning and were genuinely impressed by the sheer variety on offer. The buffet featured an extensive selection of both local Thai favourites and international classics. There was an abundance of fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, pancakes, and waffles, alongside a generous spread of cold cuts, cheeses, and baked goods. For those craving something heartier, there were curries, rice dishes, noodles, and eggs cooked to order - prepared right in front of you at the live station.

Prego Bangkok is a stylish Italian restaurant on the lobby level, offering a refined yet relaxed dining experience. The menu features handmade pasta, wood fired pizzas, and classic Italian desserts. We enjoyed a beautifully cooked truffle risotto and a crisp glass of Pinot Grigio. The food was simple, elegant, and full of flavour. It’s a great spot for a quiet dinner or a treat after a busy day exploring the city. The kids menu was great too.

Prego Italian Restaurant Amari Bangkok Thailand Travel Daily Review ChomSindh is an authentic Thai restaurant. It is described as 'a gastronautical journey through Thai waters' and you can expect to see freshwater and seafood delicacies on the menu here.

ChomSindh Amari Bangkok Thailand Travel Daily Review NILA is a beautiful Indian Restaurant, designed to take you on a flavorful voyage through India's coastal regions, where vibrant spices meet Portuguese influences, inspired by trading routes and reflected in the blue waters that shaped its cuisine. We didnt have chance to try this restaurant but the reviews are amazing. The food is descibed as being beautifully presented with creative, delicious and well balanced flavours. Definitely one to try next time!

NILA Restaurant Amari Bangkok Thailand Travel Daily Review Maitria Bar: Located just off the lobby, Maitria Bar is a lovely space for a pre dinenr drink or a nightcap. The menu includes classic cocktails, mocktails, and a good selection of wines and spirits. It’s a great place to unwind after a day out in the city, with comfortable seating and a calm, contemporary vibe.

Pool Bar: Set beside the resort style pool, it’s the perfect spot for a light lunch or refreshing drink under the Bangkok sun. Since it’s located on the same floor as the gym, it’s also ideal for refuelling after a workout. You can grab a fresh coconut or a protein shake to recharge, and there’s even a happy hour with drinks and crisps for a casual treat.

Wellness & Leisure

The entire 8th floor is dedicated to wellness and relaxation. The resort style outdoor pool, surrounded by lush greenery and plenty of loungers, offers a tranquil escape from the city’s hustle. It’s a peaceful spot to unwind with a book or enjoy a cocktail from the Pool Bar, which also serves light bites and snacks throughout the day.

Also located on the wellness floor, Breeze Spa offers a peaceful escape from the energy of the city. Unfortunately I didn’t have time for a treatment during our stay, but the spa’s calming atmosphere with soft lighting, gentle music, and the subtle scent of essential oils made it a tempting place to unwind. The treatment menu includes a range of massages and wellness therapies, all designed to help guests relax, recharge, and feel their best.

Fitness Centre Amari Bangkok Thailand Travel Daily Review

Fitness enthusiasts will be impressed by the state of the art gym, one of the best equipped we’ve encountered on our travels so far. It features a full suite of cardio machines, free weights, resistance equipment, and even a dedicated space for Muay Thai training and group exercise classes. There’s also a squash court for those looking to mix up their workout routine.

Sustainable Sightseeing: Amari Bangkok’s EV Tuk Tuk Experience

Amari Bangkok Thailand Travel Review EV Tuk Tuk Experience

Amari Bangkok has added a fresh twist to a Thai classic with the launch of its EV Tuk Tuk - a modern, electric version of the iconic three wheeler. Designed to enhance the guest experience while supporting sustainability, it’s a fun and eco conscious way to explore the nearby neighbourhoods of Pratunam and Ratchaprasong.

The experience is guided by a City Explorer, a knowledgeable host who shares stories and insights about Bangkok’s rich culture as you travel. The route includes convenient stops at well known landmarks like the Four Face Buddha, Siam Square, the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, and the Jim Thompson House, making it easy to discover the city’s highlights without the hassle of navigating traffic.

It’s a thoughtful addition to Amari Bangkok’s guest offering, combining sustainability, local storytelling, and convenience in one memorable ride.

Sightseeing concierge Amari Bangkok Thailand Travel Daily Review

The concierge team were fantastic and really helped us plan our first day of sightseeing. They came and met us in Club Siraa over breakfast and listened as we explained the kinds of things we wanted to see and do. They helped plan a route, complete with notes, which even included which way to turn when coming out of the metro. Thanks to their local tips, we explored parts of Bangkok that felt more authentic and less touristy, which was exactly what we were hoping for.

Final Thoughts: Why Stay at Amari Bangkok?

We highly recommend Amari Bangkok for anyone visiting the city, whether for business or leisure. The location is ideal, the rooms are stylish and comfortable, and the service is consistently excellent. The Club Siraa experience adds real value, and it’s the thoughtful details like clearly labelled light switches and genuinely attentive staff that make the stay feel special.

For UK travellers looking for a luxury hotel that blends Thai hospitality with modern convenience, Amari Bangkok is a standout choice.
