Between the 21st December 2022 and the 8th January 2023, JOALI Maldives, the country’s first and only art-immersive holiday resort, is excited to debut its ‘Rejoice of Colours’ pop art-themed festive celebrations, with the art-filled island being vividly decorated in a truly celebratory display.

JOALI Maldives is a magical holiday destination to celebrate the festive season with loved ones, with a selection of 73 impeccably designed water and beach villas, varying from one-bedroom to five-bedroom residences, as well as five gastronomic restaurants and a beautiful ESPA spa. In keeping with holiday spirit, JOALI Maldives has created a three-week festive calendar packed full of unique and memory-lasting experiences to bring loved ones together.
Igniting Creative Minds
Central to the JOALI Maldives offering is its exceptional array of immersive art and design which are dotted throughout the resort. Combining this ethos with a festive-centric schedule, guests on the island can engage in creative activities, such as glazing classes at the island’s Art Studio, discovering the art of ceramics, clay moulding sessions, and therapeutic painting lessons led by JOALI Maldives’ resident artist.
Island, Ocean and Conservation Ventures
During the festive period, guests can take part in a series of activities, to help nurture the bond, and bring the family together. This will include a series of unique ‘Family Challenges’; social tennis and padel sessions with other island guests; joining the resident Marine Biologist for snorkelling and turtle-searching, discovering the marine-scape of the Maldives through an educational talk; and a truly spectacular Kite Festival at Mura Beach.
JOALI Maldives welcomes guests to start each day with a variety of events, from venturing out into the surrounding Raa Atoll for Big Game fishing, joining in for sunrise yoga classes, or perfecting tennis swings during an hour-long morning session.

For the guests looking for a more adrenaline-boosting adventure, JOALI Maldives will be hosting an array of activities to entice families, including Jet Skiing, joining the resident Marine Biologist on a quest to find turtles in the surrounding ocean, football and tennis tournaments open to all guests, night snorkelling through the waves, beach volleyball, and a blood-pumping full body workout at the island’s Fitness Centre.
Rest and Restoration
Alongside the fast-paced activities, there will be a range of experiences for those looking to relax and unwind during the festive period. This will include VinYin Yoga, sound healing, a couples yoga class to connect with one another, sunrise yoga at the island’s Spa, Vinyasa Flow yoga classes, or join the resident practitioners at the Spa for a ‘rest and digest’ restorative practice.
Muramas Kids Club Island Activities
JOALI Maldives’ Muramas Kids Club will offer an exceptional array of activities for the young ones during the festive season. This will include exciting games such as a Beach Walk with Hermit Crab Racing, Blind Man’s Bluff, Limbo, Balloon Stomp, as well as classic games of Badminton, Hula Hoop Pass, Ring Toss, and Bean Bag Toss.
Alongside these action-packed adventures, the Muramas kids club will host artistic workshops to ignite the creative young minds on the island. Artistic activities will include face painting, ‘painting with the Ocean’, Christmas tree coral painting, tote bag tie-dying, ceramic mug glazing, and culinary-learning cooking classes.
Christmas Culinary Experiences:
To create an unforgettable holiday celebration, JOALI Maldives will be hosting a wide range of culinary experiences for guests to enjoy with their loved ones.
Festive celebrations will include a Tree Lighting Ceremony to kickstart the merriments; Christmas Eve dinner served at Bellinis and Vandhoo Beach, followed by a Retro-inspired pool party complemented by a Live DJ and Cocktail Bar; a Christmas Day Brunch for a memorable start to the special day, followed by a five-course dinner in the evening consisting of Lobster and other specialties; a mysterious visit from Santa to excite the children; and a New Year’s Eve celebration comprising of Cocktail Hour and live music, and a JOALI Maldives inspired New Year’s Eve dinner.
Guests can enjoy a range of unique culinary experiences during the festive season, including mixology classes for all, pizza-making classes for the children, Levantine cuisine cooking classes, Japanese dinners at JOALI’s Soake restaurant, Tiki cocktail hour at Mura, and a truly special ‘ice-cream day’ for all at La Joie.
Over the festive period, JOALI Maldives is excited to host a special visiting chef, Nina Tarasova, who trained under the world-renowned Alain Ducasse at his Higher Culinary school. Guests will be able to indulge in three special suppers created by Tarasova throughout the festive period, including a Japanese inspired sake pairing dinner at Soake on the 30th December; an Italian wine dinner at Bellinis on the 1st January; and an Asian-inspired five-course dinner at Vandhoo on the 4th January.
