Alice in Amilla: a whimsical Easter wonderland awaits at Amilla Maldives, where under 12's go free

Teddy Sheringham’s football camp for kids and Eid al Fitr festivities complete the Spring holiday celebrations

Between 29 March and 7 April 2024, the whimsical world of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ will come to life at Amilla Maldives with a range of activities designed to delight and inspire; from themed workshops for the children, wellbeing sessions, sports activities and arts classes to curious dining experiences, mesmerising performances and cocktail parties the Mad Hatter himself would be proud of.

What’s more, with the Family Easter Break at Amilla offer, children under 12 years old stay and eat for free.*

Slinky Yoga with the Cheshire Cat kickstarts the celebrations at Javvu Spa on Good Friday, welcoming teens and adults to begin the day with a gentle stretch as part of the resort’s commitment to supporting guests’ wellbeing. The next day, families are invited to run, walk or cycle together through a This Way, That Way, Up, Down challenge; or take to the clear blue waters for a family ocean relay race on 3 April.

Guests keen to get into the competitive spirit as a team can also enjoy Tweedledee and Tweedledum’s Family Beach Games (1 April), ‘We’re All Mad Here’ lagoon volleyball (5 April), and Card Guards Tag Rugby (7 April).

Those preferring to dine like the Mad Hatter can immerse themselves in a culinary wonderland with Amilla Maldives’ array of special dinners and cocktail events. On Good Friday, a Queen of Hearts Cocktail Party featuring Talking Flower stilt walkers sets the scene before a family-style Walrus and the Carpenter’s Seafood Dinner; the next day sees an Easter Enchantment Dinner complete with aerial acrobatics from the Cheshire Cat. Of course, no adventure in Wonderland would be complete without tea: Easter Sunday’s Mad Hatter’s Tea Party Sunday Brunch invites guests to enjoy a very happy un-birthday together.

The G(in) & T(ea) Guest Cocktail Party, featuring the Tea Pot Trio animation brings another twist to a Great British classic; a Down the Rabbit Hole mixology class on 4 April invites guests to create their own magical concoctions; while How About a Nice Glass of Wine at Chili’s Wine Club concludes the celebrations on 7 April.

Imaginative guests keen to channel the creativity of Lewis Carroll can join myriad art workshops, including a Mad Hatter Painting Class on Good Friday and Easter egg painting (30 March); Whimsy and Wonder Improv Workshop just for adults, immersing them in the wonderful world of the imagination (1 April); a Mad Hatter’s Improv Workshop for kids (3 April); Wonder Sand Art (5 April); Batik Painting Class (6 April) and the Cheshire Cat Art Class (7 April).

Other whimsical wonderland activities include the White Rabbit’s Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday; the Mad Hatter’s Maze Challenge (2 April); a hula hoop workshop with ‘Electric Alice’ (3 April); and a Find the Golden Key family treasure hunt on 6 April.

Beyond the Rabbit Hole

While the Easter celebrations conclude on 7 April, Amilla’s exceptional experiences continue with Eid al Fitr festivities from 8 April, complete with Arabian cuisine pop up, Kasbash Shisha and mesmerising Tanoura performances.

From the 8 to 15 April, former Manchester United, Spurs and England international footballer, Teddy Sheringham, will host a football camp to inspire young footballers.
