Escorted tour operator Newmarket Holidays has launched two brand-new festive tours for 2023, one whisking guests away to a gorgeous grand Victorian house in the Peak District and the other showcasing the magic of Hamburg at Christmas. In addition, following an increase in solo bookings for the company in recent months, five other existing and popular winter tours are now available to book without a single supplement fee.

The new 6-day Christmas in the Peak District tour begins with guests checking in to the grand Palace Hotel Buxton set in a stately Victorian countryside house in the heart of the Peak District. On day two, the tour visits Chatsworth House, a Grade I-listed property dating back to the 17th century, where the estate and surrounding grounds are transformed into a joyful Christmas wonderland of extravagant decorations each year. Day three, Christmas Eve, includes a walking tour of the charming thermal spa town of Buxton and a visit to the pretty market town of Bakewell best known for its famous pudding. Guests have the option to attend Midnight Mass at a local church in the evening. Christmas day is then at leisure inclusive of a sumptuous festive lunch with all the trimmings, followed by an optional Peak District National Park walk on day five before a farewell dinner with evening entertainment. Prices start from £756 per person including five nights’ bed and breakfast accommodation, excursions and selected additional meals. Guests are required to make their way to and from Buxton. Tour dates are 22nd to 27th December 2023. Tour link: https://www.newmarketholidays.co.uk/holidays/europe/christmas-in-the-peak-district

The new 4-day Hamburg Christmas Markets tour transports guests to the enchanting festive streets of Hamburg, festooned with twinkling lights and boasting over 30 markets selling crafts, trinkets and foods. Staying at the ideally located NH Hamburg Altona, the tour includes visits to Ghesenmarkt Square with its array of stalls offering local treats, Town Hall Square in the centre of the city where around 80 artisans will be showcasing their wares, Spitalerstraße which is one of the liveliest pedestrianised shopping streets during the festive period and Gerhart-Hauptmann-Platz which encompasses a natural pine tree forest and wooden cabins offering chestnuts and gingerbread. Guests will also board a cruise and sail across Hamburg’s harbour while local skippers highlight points of interest and have the option to join a tour of Lübeck, a medieval old town and Germany’s most extensive UNESCO World Heritage Site which comes to life during the festive period with its historic alleys illuminated with fairy lights and dotted with delightfully decorated pine trees. Prices start from £585 per person including three nights’ bed and breakfast accommodation, excursions and flights. Departures on the 08th and 15th December 2023 from Manchester and London airports. Tour link: https://www.newmarketholidays.co.uk/holidays/europe/hamburg-christmas-markets

In addition, following the popularity of the company’s recently launched Solo Traveller Collection, five of Newmarket Holidays’ existing popular festive tours are now available to book with no single supplement, making it easier than ever for solo travellers to experience some seasonal charm away from home. These are Christmas in Verona and Lake Garda, Christmas in the Austria Tyrol, Krakow Christmas Markets, Edinburgh Christmas Markets and Swiss Christmas Markets.
