Argentina Announces Latest Travel News

Following the removal of all COVID-19 travel entry requirements and restrictions on 27 September 2022, Argentina now welcomes all visitors to explore the diverse and spectacular country in South America, regardless of vaccination status. The removal of restrictions comes after a series of new domestic and international travel and tourism developments in the country, including the launch of the digital nomad visa programme and a sustainable nature focused tourism website.

Aimed at attracting tourists from around the world to live and work remotely in Argentina, a new digital nomad visa was launched on 21 May 2022 by the Argentine government. Valid for six months with the option to renew or extend once you are in the country, digital nomads are able to remain in the country for up to one year - offering the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the destination, from its breath taking natural scenery to its culinary delights.

Argentina has a lot to offer digital nomads. Visitors can benefit from a low cost of living, with many coworking spaces available in the cities and an efficient public transport system across the country. The vibrant culture, friendliness and welcoming nature of the locals, as well as its natural wonders and beautiful architecture, are among some of the many reasons that make it an ideal destination for digital nomads.

A new website, “La Ruta Natural” (The Natural Route), was launched last year by Argentina’s Minister of Tourism & Sports, Matías Lammens, and with the support of the National Institute for Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR), including Executive Secretary, Ricardo Sosa, inviting travellers from around the world to discover the natural beauty and scenic attractions of Argentina, with detailed tips to help them plan their trips in a responsible, sustainable way.

Developed to promote nature tourism throughout the country, the new site offers information on 150 nature destinations in Argentina, including more than 50 experiences for visitors to immerse themselves in the great outdoors, astronomy, adventure, and bird and wildlife watching, as well as Argentina’s national parks and scenic routes.

It seeks to enhance emerging regions and collaborate in the development of communities based on their natural values, promoting sustainable tourism and encouraging travellers to be responsible when visiting natural environments.
