As we all know, France will reopen its borders to British holidaymakers today! The February half term is just around the corner and Brits are able to book skiing holidays again.

Skiing has outgrown its beginnings as a sport for mountaineers and is now a mainstream winter holiday activity to get the whole family involved in.

But for skiers, it's not just the hotels, restaurants and entertainment ski resorts offer, but factors such as the snow and the terrain of the mountainsides that are important. Around 1.5 million UK households go skiing at least once a year, and for many it’s a holiday they can’t quite get enough of.

So here is a rundown on the best skiing destinations in the world.

Altitude Ski School has released a brand new ranking table, taking into account all the main factors that make a location perfect for skiing, including:

  • When is the ski season?
  • Hours of Sunshine
  • Highest point of resort
  • Kilometres of slopes
  • Average snowfall
  • Average cost of a day pass
  • Number of Lifts and Gondolas

Compiling all of the data, they gave each ski location a number out of 84 in order to be able to rank them by their overall number.

BONNEVAL-SUR-ARC - FRANCE is the 7th best skiing destination in the world. The ski resort earned 45 points out of 84 and has 10 lifts/gondolas, 32km of slopes and 529cm of snowfall.

“This is why we have delved deep into every factor that can make or break a ski trip to avoid any nasty surprises!”
